Paris, 30 May 2025. The Ambassador of Cuba and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, H.E. María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, signed the Book of Condolences at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Paris on the passing of H.E. Mr. Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party and former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
On behalf of the Cuban Party, Government, and people, as well as the Permanent Delegation of Cuba to UNESCO, the Ambassador conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Party, Government, and people of Vietnam, and to the family of the dear comrade and friend.
She emphasized the key role played by Tran Duc Luong in strengthening the long-standing ties of friendship and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba, and highlighted his revolutionary legacy, which will endure in the memory of both nations.
“The passing of Comrade Tran Duc Luong is a profound loss for the peoples of Cuba and Vietnam. His revolutionary legacy will live on, and we will never forget his contribution to the deepening of our bilateral relations,” the Ambassador stated.
The Cuban people join in mourning with the brotherly Vietnamese people.
