Cuba's great friend known to all as Captain Tsikata passes away.

Accra, December 1, 2021. - It was with great sadness that the Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Anette Chao García, signed the book of condolences on the passing of Cuba's great friend Captain Kojo Tsikata.

In her words in the book, she wrote that Cuba, with the passing of the Captain, lost a dear family member. She acknowledged his consistency as a Pan-Africanist, an Anti-Imperialist, and a warrior by blood, who accompanied the Cuban Revolution with love and solidarity. The diplomat quoted Cuba's national hero, José Marti when he wrote: ‘Death is not true when the work of life has been well accomplished’ and concluded her remarks by noting a common phrase among Ghanaians at the time of death: ‘Captain Tsikata, we celebrate your life’.

Captain Kojo Tsikata passed away on November 20, in Accra.
