For 28 consecutive years, since 1992, the United Nations General Assembly has adopted the Cuban resolution with a growing majority and thus called for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States imposed 60 years ago on the island.

Cuba has given its blood and tireless work of thousands of internationalist co-operators around the world, who help peoples, who do not scare their wealth, but give them health and knowledge. Cuba will not surrender, make concessions of principle, nor cease to be supportive and internationalist.
Cuba will remain unwavering in its principles. These 60 years of the Cuban Revolution have been of heroic resistance and victories of our people. Our dreams will never be blocked, our people are determined to go their way. Cuba is a truly independent country. It is because it gained its independence on its own and has known and will be able to defend it at the price of the greatest sacrifices and risks. The blood of the fallen, the sweat of our people will not be in vain. We do not accept threats, nor impositions of foreign powers. We are proud of our history and the work of our people in building a sovereign socialist state.
In this hard battle of our people against imperialism and injustice, Cuba has always been able to count on the support of the international community that has once again shown its solidarity and support against the unfair economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US against Cuba.
