Cuba’s victory against blockade is presented in Saint Lucia.

The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Alejandro Simancas, presented to the main media of this country the resolution, approved yesterday in the United Nations General Assembly, which calls for an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the largest island of the Antilles.

In the presence of a group of journalists representing the written press and television, such as Choice TV and the newspapers The Voice and The Mirror, the Ambassador pointed out that the world said, once again, NO to the blockade and demanded the immediate lifting of this policy in violation of all the elementary norms of international law, of the postulates of the United Nations and, of course, the human rights of the Cuban people.

He stated that despite the global call, the US government has continued to reinforce this policy at absurd and aggressive levels with the aim of stifling the Cuban economy. He also reiterated his gratitude to the Government and people of Saint Lucia for their support for this resolution and for their continued expressions of solidarity with Cuba, which reflect the deep ties of friendship that unite the two peoples.
