Statement by Danish Communist Party / Greetings to Cuba:
Stop the madness - Cuba should not be on a terrorist list but have the Nobel Peace Prize
The United States accuses Cuba of supporting terrorism. That's a dirty lie – the reality is that Cuba is a victim of US terrorism.
Danish Communist Party (KP) condemns at the sharpest the Trump-administration's decision to include Cuba in its list of countries that allegedly support terrorism.
It was shocking to see US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announce the Trump-administration decision. Accusing Cuba of supporting international terrorism is so politically nonsensical that it does not really deserve any attention. But given the power that the United States possesses both politically, economically and militarily, it is necessary to take a stand and distance oneself.
People and organizations all over the world do this – also in Denmark.
Danish Communist Party (KP) reaffirms its solidarity with Cuba and its opposition to US hostile policy against Cuba:
We say no to the blockade - #UNBLOCK CUBA!
We say stop the subversive political activities and all attempts to promote a regime change in Cuba.
We say stop all violence and terror against Cuba. For reality is, that it is not Cuba, but the United States government, its military and secret services that commit state terrorism against nations and peoples of all parts of the world - including Cuba.
Evidence and examples line up:
* The blockade costs Cuba billions of dollars every year. It is illegal and inhuman and costs suffering and death in Cuba. It is an economic war.
* US subversive activities and support for counter-revolutionary activities in Cuba are revealed several times a year.
* The latest example of armed terror against Cuba we experienced on April 30, 2020, where an armed attack was directed at the Cuban embassy in Washington.
Conversely, no charges of terrorism or support for terrorism can be leveled against Cuba. On the contrary, Cuba is perhaps the country in the world that acts most humanistically and in solidarity with other countries and peoples.
It has many expressions - most known and appreciated during the corona pandemic is probably Cuba sending doctors and nurses to a large number of countries whose healthcare system is unable to cope the tasks.
Thus, Danish Communist Party supports the international appeal to nominate Cuba's medical 'Henry Reeve Brigades' for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021.
