Danish magazine reports effects of blockade against Cuba

Cuba Bladet magazine, promoted by the Danish-Cuban Association of Friendship in Denmark, dedicates in its September edition several articles that reflect the multiple effects that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States over 50 years has caused to the Cuban people.

The edition includes the text of the press statement issued by the Solidarity Association in response to the measures announced by President Donald Trump last June 16, aimed at reinforcing the policy of blockade against Cuba; the declaration calls for the total elimination of the blockade and calls for international solidarity in this regard.

The journal provides a chronological overview of the blockade that was also recently published in a booklet in Danish language, which facilitates its understanding and dissemination in this society.

Another article reflects that the blockade is the main cause of the economic difficulties faced by the Island and explains its direct negative impact on the daily life of the Cuban family. It describes the new restrictions announced by the US president in June 2017 and the application of the Helms-Burton law whose extraterritorial effect continues to hamper the trade of other countries with Cuba.

The publication also mentions the social achievements in health and education achieved by the Caribbean nation following the revolutionary triumph of 1959. (Embacuba Dinamarca)
