Day of Cuban Culture begins in Finland

Cultura

Helsinki, October 10, 2023.- The inauguration of the Cuban Culture Days was held this Tuesday in Helsinki. Greetings at night were brought by the Cuban ambassador Beatriz Parra González and Paula Pere, president of the Finland-Cuba Association. We also heard memories of the first Finnish cultural delegation in Cuba 50 years ago.

Finnish musician Tero Toivanen, who has worked as a professional musician for a long time in Santiago de Cuba, gave an interesting interactive presentation on the rarely heard history of Chanqui and Cuban Son, identity origins of Cuban music.

At the end of the night, Tero grabbed his tres again at the request of the crowd and the music continued until the end of the night.

Long live Cuba and Cuban culture!
