Declaration of the European Communist Action on the 66th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

January 1, 2025. European Communist Action pays tribute to the heroic Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution, the first socialist revolution on the American continent, which is a source of inspiration and a shining example for the working peoples of the world that their struggles have the power to overthrow capitalist barbarism.

Since the overthrow of Batista's tyranny, the road taken by the Cuban revolutionaries has not been easy; they have resisted imperialism, repelled invasions, survived imperialist interventions and attacks, and resisted the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years. The determined and long-standing resistance of the Cuban people is a response to the barbaric aggression against Cuba, putting the country on the unacceptable and arbitrary list of states that support terrorism by the US.

Despite imperialist efforts to suffocate the island, the determined choice made by the Cuban people with the revolution and the course of socialist construction has led to achievements in important aspects of their lives, including health, education, science, culture and sport.

Despite limited resources, Cuba has not hesitated to extend its fraternal hand and to place its medical and educational achievements at the service of peoples as an example of internationalism.

While faithful to Fidel's historic legacy, the Communist Party of Cuba faces serious setbacks today.

European Communist Action, like the vast majority of the peoples of the world, stands right behind the Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba and calls for an intensification of the struggle for the unconditional lifting of the barbaric American blockade and the inclusion of the country in the arbitrary list of "states that sponsor terrorism."

European Communist Action strongly rejects all subversive plans and manipulative campaigns on social networks and in the mass media aimed at interfering with Cuba's internal affairs, destabilizing its political system and undermining its sovereignty.

European Communist Action declares its determination to further strengthen the ties of solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban Revolution, the experience of which can and must be used to strengthen the history and contribution of the communist movement, to strengthen proletarian internationalism and the struggle for socialism.

Long live the Cuban Revolution!
