The Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity denounces the attitude of the Greek government, which signs the despicable and provocative joint resolution of 20 Foreign Ministers against Cuba, repeating the false arguments about democracy and human rights that are allegedly being violated by the Cuban government.
The Greek government is irreparably exposed, as it responded to the call of the State Department by embracing the lies and slander against Cuba. It opens dangerous paths, since it supports provocations and crude intervention in the internal affairs of Cuba, even signing together with the most reactionary governments of countries such as the murderous state of Israel or the Baltic countries that star in the anti-communist hysteria with prohibitions and chases. With its signature it shows how fraudulent its statements on democracy and peace are, how hostile it is against the democratic rights and freedoms of the Greek people.
The Greek people always express their solidarity with the struggle and the battles of the Cuban people against imperialist aggressiveness. The government is accountable to him and has to give explanations.
We demand:
- That the signature of Greece be withdrawn immediately from the unacceptable common resolution against Cuba, issued by the United States and supported by the European Union.
- That the inhuman multifaceted blockade that has lasted for more than 60 years, imposed by the United States against Cuba, be lifted.
- End all kinds of intervention in the internal affairs of Cuba under any pretext.
