In the current context we can observe and witness in a global scale, the perils of imperialism and the way countries and working people are affected by those. Wars and conflicts with no ending sight are being continued and fueled by the imperialists. Existing system of imperialism has proven over and over again it doe9 not act in favor of the people instead it serves only the exploitation and the concentration of capital. However, it is a blessing to the world that there are people and organizations that progressively hold the value for humanity and human values. For the thriving of humanity, we have to march towards socialism. In a world that is becoming ruthless to the humanity, Cuba is a country which strongly hold the flag of humanity and socialism. It is also a historical target of the imperialists as well as the anti-communist propagandas and agendas.
Economic blockades have been imposed on Cuba from early 1960s and Cuba is being harassed at the hands of imperialism since then. Blockade on Cuba is clearly a violation of International Law and violation of Human Rights. Blockade is amount to hinder the economic and social development of Cuban people and stands as very symbol of uncivilized politics of United States of America and the allies of it. USA is still continuing economic warfare against Cuba and Cuban people. While Cuba strongly stands for the universal free health care and free education, the ruthless blockade continues to prevent Cuban people from getting the complete benefit of those welfare facilities. USA has arbitrarily included Cuba in the 'State Sponsors of Terrorism’ list. This is not just a list. Inclusion in this list prevents Cuba from accessing international banking system and international monetary organization. It prevents Cuba from reaching its full capacity of development and act as a crucial part of the economic warfare against Cuba.
We must extend our continuous salute towards Cuba and its people. Why? Cuba has never let go of the flag of socialism or humanity irrespective of being historically and continuously targeted by the imperialists and anti-communist propa8andas and agendas. Up-to-date Cuba exemplarily stands as a socialist country, has never
relinquished its sovereignty or has never knelt down before imperialism. World has witnessed that Cuba always extend helping hand towards fellow people in other countries. Also Cuba put efforts to normalize the relationship with USA for the betterment of the people in both countries in a civilized manner without betraying the sovereignty and socialism. Regardless these embargo Cuba has contributed immensely towards global health. When Ebola spread at an alarming rate in West Africa Cuba provided” qualified medical professionals. In the COVID 19 pandemic period health and science teams of Cuba developed home-produced vaccinations to fight the pandemic within Cuba while sending medical brigades to support more than 40 other destinations. Cuba also continues to grant scholarships and accommodate students from several countries especially in the field of medical education. We highly appreciate the fact that Cuba has not intimidated or distracted by new threats and restrictions.
We as the Socialist Youth Union and Socialist Students Union along with our mother Party, the People's Liberation Front (JVP) stand strongly in solidarity with ’Cuba and we support the struggle against imperialism. We demand that barbaric and ruthless blockade on Cuba must end immediately. We strongly demand that Cuba must be removed from the ’State Sponsors of Terrorism’ list. We vehemently condemn all imperialist and anti-communist agendas towards Cuba while reassuring our solidarity, friendship and support towards Cuba and its people.
