DEDICATES HIS BRONZE MEDAL TO THE PEOPLE OF CUBA

Professor Dr. Stratos Georgoulas, Vice Rector of the University of the Aegean, obtained the Bronze medal in a competition held recently, in the Olympic stadium of the city of Volos, capital of the province of Thessaly. Dr. Georgoulas was an award-winning athlete who practiced the Marathon modality, and currently participates in veteran competitions, dealing with the long jump specialty, in which he also obtains notable results. He professes a sincere and supportive friendship towards Cuba, and as an athlete, he competes wearing a shirt with the Cuban flag. He dedicated his medal to the heroic people of the rebellious island and, in a fraternal meeting, he gave it to the Cuban ambassador in Greece, so that he sends it to his homeland as a sign of admiration and support for the struggle of his people, when they are going to commemorate a new anniversary of the assault on the Cuartel Moncada.
