Bellinzona, Switzerland, 22 March 2025. The National Assembly of delegates of the Switzerland-Cuba Association was held at this capital city of the Swiss canton of Ticino, with broad participation of Cuban residents and friends from various parts of the world.
During the meeting, participants shared the outcomes of the visits made to Cuba in the early months of 2025. Particular emphasis was placed on the positive impact of delivering “solidarity suitcases” containing medicines and medical supplies to hospitals in various Cuban provinces.
The heroism, resilience, and determination of the Cuban people in confronting the consequences and impact of the criminal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government on the Island were also highlighted.
An initiative of the movement to cooperate with the Cuban government's efforts to address the challenges of the national energy situation was discussed.
The meeting was attended by the Cuban Ambassador to Berne, Laura Pujol Torre. The Cuban Mission to the United Nations Office at Geneva was represented by Minister Counsellor Rebeca Hernández Toledano and Third Secretary Roberto Soto Martínez.
