On Defender of the Fatherland Day, Cuban Ambassador thanks his Russian counterpart for his country's support for the olive green island.

Islamabad, 23 February 2026. On Monday, Cuban Ambassador Damián Cordero Torres attended the Russian Embassy's reception to mark Defender of the Fatherland Day, a patriotic holiday, where he thanked his Russian counterpart, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev, for his country's highest authorities' support for Cuba against the criminal US blockade and the latest coercive actions by the Trump administration.

On this national holiday, the Russian people pay tribute to members of the Armed Forces, veterans and all those who have served the country.
