DEFENDING SOVEREIGNTY AND REVOLUTIONARY DIGNITY:
ACUC Condemns the Political Persecution of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz
The recent actions undertaken by the United States Department of Justice against Army General Raúl Castro Ruz constitute yet another expression of imperial arrogance, political vengeance, and systematic hostility against the Republic of Cuba and the historic leadership of the Cuban Revolution.
ACUC condemns these actions in the strongest possible terms.
This is not an act of justice.
It is a politically motivated provocation rooted in decades of interference, coercion, and attempts to undermine the sovereign will of the Cuban people.
The effort to criminalize a historic leader of the Revolution is an attack not only on Cuba, but also on all peoples who have struggled for dignity, independence, and self-determination.
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz is an international symbol of resistance, anti-imperialist struggle, revolutionary continuity, and the unwavering defense of national sovereignty and social justice.
ACUC therefore declare:
1. Our absolute rejection of this illegitimate and politically driven intents.
History cannot be placed on trial, nor can the legitimate struggles of sovereign peoples be placed on trial.
2. That the Government of the United States possesses neither the moral authority nor the legal legitimacy to judge the leaders of the Cuban Revolution.
Such actions represent a dangerous violation of the principles of non-interference, sovereign equality, and respect for international law.
3. That this moment requires not silence, but principled and concrete solidarity.
ACUC calls upon solidarity organizations, progressive movements, intellectuals, trade unions, and governments committed to justice and sovereignty to:
* Issue immediate public statements rejecting this political persecution.
* Organize peaceful demonstrations and solidarity actions in defense of Cuba.
* Intensify international campaigns demanding an end to coercive measures and hostile actions against the Cuban people.
Cuba is not alone.
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz is not alone.
No blockade, judicial harassment, political pressure, or campaign of intimidation will ever break the dignity, resilience, and revolutionary spirit of the Cuban people and all those who stand in solidarity with them.
ACUC reaffirms its unwavering commitment to stand alongside Cuba through concrete solidarity, principled action, and the continued defense of justice, peace, sovereignty, and the right of peoples to determine their own destiny.
Down with political persecution.
Long live Cuba.
Long live the dignity and sovereignty of peoples.
ACUC-For the Sovereignty of Peoples, for Peace, and for Justice.
