Delegation of Cuba´s statement during the Universal Periodic Review of Austria

Mr. President:

We warmly welcome the delegation of Austria. 

We recognize the country's commitment to the UPR and its cooperation with thematic initiatives in the Human Rights Council, such as the resolution on the right to food and on cultural rights.

In a constructive spirit, we make three recommendations:

1. Continue to allocate sufficient resources to fulfill its human rights obligations. 

2. Continue to ensure equal access to quality education for all children and young people.

3. Continue to take measures to improve the situation of national minorities, including their access to education.  

We wish Austria success in this review and in the implementation of the recommendations.
