A delegation from the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education (MES), led by Deputy Minister Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, made a working visit to Turkey from December 8 to 10, 2025, which included a full program of meetings with Prof. Dr. Erol Ozvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, and Prof. Dr. Naci Gundogan, Vice President of the aforementioned Council, with whom they signed a Memorandum of Understanding on academic cooperation between the two countries.
The MES delegation also held working meetings with Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Ali, President of the Yunus Emre Institute, and H. E. Celile Eren Okten, Deputy Minister of Education. It was also received by H.E. Yaprak Balkan, Ambassador and Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Dr. Abdulhadi Turus, Vice President of the Scholarship Institute, and Prof. Dr. Necdet Unuvar, Rector of Ankara University. During all these meetings, the potential for bilateral cooperation in the field of university education and academic exchanges was discussed.
