On January 8, a delegation from the People's Liberation Party (HKP), led by its Secretary General, Ali Serdar Çıngı, visited the Consulate General of Cuba in Istanbul to convey their condolences to the people and government of Cuba, following the death in combat of 32 Cuban citizens during the illegal military operation carried out by the United States in Venezuela on January 3.
During the fraternal meeting, HKP representatives expressed their strongest condemnation of the aggressive, interventionist, and criminal policy of the US government, especially under the administration of Donald Trump, whose actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of the Latin American peoples.
Secretary General Ali Serdar Çıngı highlighted the historic friendship between the peoples of Cuba and Turkey and reaffirmed the HKP's support for just causes in defense of the self-determination and dignity of peoples.
For his part, the Consul General of Cuba thanked the gesture of solidarity, underscoring the value of the support of progressive forces around the world in the face of events of this nature, which bring grief to the country and endanger regional peace.
The visit reaffirms the ties of friendship and cooperation between the HKP and Cuba, and constitutes a show of international support in the face of the aggressions that Latin America faces today.
