Democratic Left Front, Sri Lanka Celebrates 66th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

Today, the Democratic Left Front (DLF) celebrates the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution with Friends. This historic event, led by Fidel Castro and the 26th of July Movement, marked a turning point in Latin American history, inspiring movements for social justice and self-determination across the globe.
Despite facing decades of US-led isolation and economic blockade, the Cuban Revolution has achieved remarkable social and economic progress. Cuba boasts a world-class healthcare system, a high literacy rate, and significant advancements in education and social welfare. These achievements stand as a testament to the resilience of the Cuban people and the strength of their revolutionary spirit.
The DLF commends the Cuban government and people for their unwavering commitment to social justice, international solidarity, and their steadfast resistance against imperialist aggression. We stand in solidarity with Cuba in the face of ongoing challenges and reiterate our call for an end to the US embargo and the restoration of full diplomatic relations.
The Cuban Revolution continues to serve as an inspiration for progressive movements worldwide. Its legacy of participatory democracy, self-determination, social justice, and international solidarity remains a beacon of hope for those striving for a more equitable and just world.
