Suva, March 7 - As part of his participation as a member of the delegation that accompanies the President of the United Nations General Assembly in his vvisit to Fiji, Mr. Jerobeam Shaanika held a profitable exchange with the Cuban Ambassador on this Pacific Island, Carlos Manuel Rojas Lake. Both representatives discussed topics of great relevance in the multilateral agenda.
In a fraternal environment, Mr. Shaanika recalled with satisfaction his stay on the Caribbean Island as Head of the Namibian Diplomatic Mission. He highlighted the prestige of the Cuban Revolution on the international stage and commended the valuable contribution he makes through cooperation programs with Third World nations, specially medical collaboration, contributing to save the life or improve the health of millions of human beings without access to quality health services.
The Ambassador of Cuba stressed the potential to expand the dialogue at the multilateral headquarters between his country and the Pacific Island States, as well as the cooperation projects that Cuba develops in the area. He acknowledged that such experiences can be valuable to expand bilateral ties, based on the shared status of Small Island Developing States.
