Georgetown, June 13, 2018. The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Rogelio Sierra Díaz, was received by the Acting Secretary General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Dr. Douglas Slater, with whom he held a working meeting in which other directors of this regional organization also participated.
During the meeting, the excellent bonds of friendship and understanding that unite the largest of the Antilles and the Caribbean and the mutual will of Cuba and CARICOM to continue working to strengthen and expand them were confirmed.
On behalf of CARICOM, in addition to Dr. Slater, the meeting was attended by Mr. Joseph Cox, Assistant Secretary General for Trade and Integration; Ms. Valarie Alleyene-Odle, Director of Foreign Policy and External Economic Relations; Dr. Laurette Bristol, Program Manager Education; Ms. Beverley Reynolds, Program Coordinator Health (Focal point for the Disability Project); and Jascene Dunkley-Malcolm, Communications Officer. On the Cuban side, besides the Vice-Chancellor Sierra Díaz, the Director of Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean of the Cuban Ministry of Relations, Jorge Luis Mayo Fernández, and the Cuban Ambassador, Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro, took part in the meeting.
