Barbara Calcedo Cuba, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and the Environment concluded an intense work visit to Saint Lucia, during which she held meetings with different authorities from the Government and with officials from regional organizations. The Deputy Minister was received by Honorable Dr. Gale Rigobert, Minister for Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development. During the meeting they asserted and confirmed the excellent bilateral relations based on friendship and cooperation and they agreed to work on greater collaboration between the two Ministries. Minister Dr. Gale Rigobert highlighted the impact that the collaboration with Cuba has had in the field of the training of professionals and their interest in increasing and diversifying this collaboration. The Deputy Minister of CITMA also held meetings with James Edwin, Mayor of the District of Gros Islet and President of the National Conservation Authority and authorities of the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO). She also held several exchanges with the Directorate of the Caribbean Agency for Public Health (CARPHA), an institution belonging to CARICOM, and with Officers of the Environmental Unit of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. Accompanying the Deputy Minister of CITMA were Pedro Ruiz, International Relations Officer of this Ministry and Alejandro Simancas, Ambassador of Cuba to Saint Lucia.
