Paris, October 9, 2024. This week UNESCO hosted the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the its Routes of Slaved People program, a date that has been remembered throughout this year in several countries, including Cuba.
Representing the country, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Lillitsy Hernández Oliva, attended the ministerial round table organized for this purpose.
During her speech, she denounced the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade and the policy of hostility of the United States government against Cuba. "Despite the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government on Cuba for more than 60 years, intensified with additional sanctions, Cuba will not renounce international solidarity and cooperation," said the senior Cuban official.
