As part of her visit to Ghana, the head of the Cuban government delegation, Dr. Marcia Cobas Ruiz visited the city of Tamale, capital of the Northern region, where she was received by the Regional Deputy Minister, Mr. Solomon Namliit Boar, with whom she exchanged about issues of bilateral interest. The Cuban Deputy Minister communicated Cuba's interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of Health.
Dr. Marcia Cobas toured the facilities of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), and met with the members of the Cuban Medical Brigade who work in the Northern and Upper East regions, who make up 50% of the Cuban health workers that today work in Ghana, and with their work they have contributed in improving the health indicators in both regions. The Cuban leader also exchanged with a representation of the members of the Cuban Trained Ghanaian Graduates Association (ESBECAN) residents in that city.
During her visit to northern Ghana, she was accompanied by the Director of Africa and the Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ambassador Rafael Jimeno; the Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González and the head of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Ana Lubín García.
