Abu Dhabi, October 3 - Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, and the delegation accompanying him, held a cordial meeting with the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, within the framework of the working visit made by the Cuban representative to the United Arab Emirates.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed the status of the current joint projects between Cuba and the Fund, linked to the hydraulic and renewable energy spheres, with a high social impact. They also ratified the will to give continuity to the relations of cooperation between the island and the Emirati financial institution.
Ricardo Cabrisas gave an update on the economic situation in Cuba, as well as development plans and prioritized sectors. In addition, he communicated the decision of the Cuban government to boost economic, commercial and investment ties with the UAE. Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi expressed his satisfaction and offered support from the Fund to carry out these aspirations.
During the meeting, the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and the Director General of the Fund also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to reorganize the payment of the financing provided by the ADFD to Cuba, as part of the actions aimed at strengthening bilateral economic and cooperation ties.
