Deputy Secretary General of SWAPO holds a meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba.

Namibia, February 16th, 2021- His Excellency Mr. Marco Hausiku, Deputy Secretary General of SWAPO Party, member of its Political Bureau and rector of the School of that political organization, received Sidenio Acosta, Ambassador of Cuba to this African country.

The meeting, developed in an atmosphere of brotherhood, took place at the headquarters of the SWAPO School. Both exchanged on the state of relations between SWAPO and the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, by its acronym in Spanish). Likewise, different ways were identified to continue strengthening these historical ties.

The Cuban Ambassador updated his interlocutor on the efforts of the Government of the Island to control the Covid-19 pandemic. Likewise, he detailed the effects on the Cuban economy caused by the pandemic and by the intensification of the US blockade.

Hausiku, for his part, thanked Cuba's support for his country since the fight for the independence of Namibia. He also expressed his gratitude for the support received from the PCC and the Superior School of the Party "Ñico López" in organizing the entity that he directs.

Marco Hausiku has held important positions since the independence of Namibia, both in the government and in SWAPO. Among them, the appointment of him as Deputy Prime Minister and as Chancellor, in different periods, stand out.
