Banjul, October 19, 2016 Honorable Fatou Mbye, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of The Gambia, reiterated today in the Gambian Parliament her support to the struggle for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
The legislator stressed the unshakable Gambian parliamentarians support to the island during the fraternal exchange with the Cuban Ambassador in Banjul, Lázaro Herrera, who visited the seat of the Parliament of that country and offered a wealth of information on the latest amendments approved by President Barack Obama to ease some aspects of the sanctions against Cuba, and also about the campaign carried out at present in Cuba and internationally to protest against the criminal policy and to demand its lifting.
The meeting came on the eve of the upcoming vote on the Cuban resolution against the blockade, which will be held by all member states at the General Assembly of the United Nations.
