Destination Cuba and Multidestination 2023 campaign launched in Jamaica.

Kingston, 9 March 2023. Convened by the Caribbean and Latin Travel agency and the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, the launch of the Destination Cuba and Multidestination 2023 Campaign took place.

The event was attended by the Honourable Pearnel Charles Jr, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Jamaica, and other parliamentarians who are members of the friendship group with Cuba. Also in attendance were representatives of Jamaican government institutions and agencies, members of the accredited diplomatic corps, travel agencies, tour operators, entrepreneurs interested in doing business in Cuba, the media and Cubans living in Jamaica.  

Cuban Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez thanked, at the opening of the event, the support provided by the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, the Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos, Aerogaviota, COMBIOMED, Iberostar Cuba and the Estancia SA. The diplomat updated those present on the new business and investment opportunities in Cuba and acknowledged the tenacity of Cuban businessmen and entrepreneurs, who daily face the harmful effects of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.

The presentations made highlighted the unique characteristics of Cuba's tourism offerings and in particular the eastern region of the country; the main tourism and economic and commercial events to be held on the island this year; the potential of the multi-destination in the Caribbean region; the immersion programmes in the educational sector, as well as the achievements of our country in the health and biotechnology sectors.

As part of the event, attendees were able to appreciate the designs of Cuban guayaberas and taste traditional Cuban cocktails to the rhythm of son.
