Diaz-Canel had a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong

The top Vietnamese party leader congratulated his Cuban counterpart on his recent election as First Secretary and recognized the revolutionary career of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and his contributions to the brotherhood ties between Cuba and Vietnam.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, held a fraternal and productive telephone conversation this Wednesday morning with the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong.

The top Vietnamese party leader congratulated his Cuban counterpart for his recent election as First Secretary and recognized the revolutionary career of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and his contributions to the brotherhood ties between Cuba and Vietnam.

Comrade Díaz-Canel reported on the results of the 8th. Party Congress and thanked Vietnam for its support in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against our people. The Cuban leader also wished the Communist Party of Vietnam success in implementing the resolutions passed in its 13th. Congress.

Both leaders ratified the will to continue strengthening the special relations of friendship and cooperation between both peoples, parties and governments, guided by the imperishable legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the legendary revolutionary Ho Chi Minh.
