Ebrima Sillah, General Director of the Radio and Television Services of The Gambia (GRTS) visited the Cuban Embassy in Banjul, invited by the Cuban ambassador Lazaro Herrera. The visit reciprocated the one paid days before by the Cuban diplomat to GRTS headquarter, in which occasion both held a cordial exchange and the host took the visitor on a tour through the facilities of the channel.
The meeting gave continuity to the dialogue both parties initiated some days before and in which the interest of strengthening relations between this important Gambian institution and Cuba's diplomatic mission prevailed, as well as the will to work to find ways of collaboration between similar institutions of both countries.
GRTS is the main broadcaster of national information and communication on a public base and the only television governmental channel in the country since its inception in 1996. It broadcasts in English and other local languages mainly news, announcements and educational programs.
