Dublin November 15, 2018. Deputy Thomas Pringle, coordinator of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba, gave the welcome at the headquarters of the Irish parliament to Dr. Aleida Guevara March, who is visiting Ireland. Also present was Deputy Maureen O'Sulivan, vice president of the Foreign Relations Committee of the parliament, as well as Silvio Platero, President of Cuban Movement for Peace and activists of the Cuba Support Group, a recognized organization in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
During the development of the meeting Aleidita, with regard to the recent approval by overwhelming majority of the States members of the General Assembly of the United Nations, of the resolution that demands the end of the Yankee blockade to Cuba, it had occasion to update the deputies on the impact of this cruel policy on all areas of life of Cubans and especially in the health sector where she works as a pediatrician and in the education sector with which she collaborates closely for the functions she performs in the Che Guevara Study Center.
On the other hand, the Cuban ambassador in Ireland, Hugo René Ramos Milanés, ratified the deep gratitude f the Cuban people and government for the traditional support of Ireland for the approval of this resolution and especially for the collaboration provided by the Parliament and the Parliamentary Group of friendship.
