Cairo, February 10, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, held a friendly meeting with Ambassador Khaled Azmi, Deputy Minister for the Americas at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. The Cuban diplomat updated the Deputy Foreign Minister on the complex situation in Cuba, due to the intensification of the blockade and the new measures implemented by the White House to cut off oil supplies to the island.
The Cuban Head of Mission reported on the measures taken by the Cuban government to address the fuel shortage and maintain the vitality of essential services provided to the population.
Pellicer Moraga reaffirmed the Cuban government's willingness to establish a civilized dialogue with the United States, based on mutual respect, without preconditions or impositions. At the same time, he reaffirmed the decision of the Cuban people and government to defend their independence and sovereignty.
For his part, the Egyptian diplomat thanked him for the information provided and expressed his hope that a constructive dialogue could be established between Cuba and the United States to resolve differences through negotiation.
