Cairo, October 26, 2025. A dozen Egyptian newspapers have reported on the press conference given on October 22 by Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga.
The published articles reported that on October 28, Cuba will once again submit to a vote in the UN General Assembly a draft resolution calling for an end to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States. They also highlighted the great damage caused by the blockade imposed on Cuba for more than six decades, which at current prices amounts to more than $170.677 billion, equivalent to $2.1 trillion at the value of gold.
The extraterritoriality of the blockade has also been addressed in several of the articles, as demonstrated by several examples of actions against third-country countries and companies.
The Egyptian press highlighted Cuba's gratitude to the Egyptian government for its historic support for the Cuban resolution and for its interventions to explain its vote. (Embacuba Egipto)
