Cairo, October 12, 2025. The Egyptian websites of the Al Safir newspaper and the Hispanic-Arab League echoed the Cuban Foreign Ministry's statement titled “Cuba categorically refutes involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.” The statement rejects the false accusations made by the US government regarding Cuba's alleged involvement in that military conflict.
In the statement, the Cuban government categorically confirms that Cuba is not involved in the armed conflict in Ukraine, nor does it participate with military personnel there or in any other country.
It also affirms that the authorities have no precise information about Cuban nationals who have participated or are participating on their own behalf in the military forces of either side in the armed conflict. What is irrefutable is that none of them has the encouragement, commitment, or consent of the Cuban state for their actions.
“The Cubans participating on both sides of the armed conflict have been recruited through organizations that are not based in our country and have no connection whatsoever with the Cuban government. The vast majority of this recruitment is carried out from abroad among nationals who reside or are temporarily staying in various countries, as is the case with the recruitment for that conflict of a multiplicity of nationalities in numbers that are also imprecise.” The statement said.
“The U.S. government has not and cannot provide any evidence to support the baseless and mendacious accusations in its new smear campaign against Cuba.” The document issued yesterday, October 11, concluded.
These false accusations are part of a new campaign against the island to try to justify to the world the criminal policy of blockade and sanctions that deprive the Cuban people of basic necessities and violate their fundamental human rights. (Embacuba Egipto)
