Egyptian media report on the celebration of National Rebellion Day organized by the Cuban Embassy

Cairo, July 28, 2026. Egyptian digital media outlets reported on the event organized by the Cuban Embassy to celebrate National Rebellion Day and pay tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, on the centennial of his birth.

The reports highlighted the remarks of Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga, who emphasized the historical significance of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks in achieving true independence and sovereignty for the Largest of the Antilles. The Cuban diplomat also referred to the context in which this date is being celebrated, coinciding with the centennial of the Commander-in-Chief’s birth.

Pellicer Moraga also denounced the United States’ aggressive policy toward Cuba, the intensification of the blockade, and the energy blockade currently imposed on the island—which is causing great suffering to the Cuban people—stating that a silent genocide is being committed against Cuba.

Among the media outlets that covered the event were the Hispanic-Arab League, Al Dameer, Akhbar Alyoum, and Africa Face. (EmbaCuba Egipto)
