Cairo, September 23, 2026. Egyptian newspapers today highlighted the Cuban delegation’s withdrawal from the UN in response to the falsehoods about Cuba made by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Donald Trump once again lied about Cuba by labeling it a “failed state,” and he once again predicted the fall of the Cuban government in the face of the intense pressure his country is exerting on the Largest of the Antilles.
Over the past nine months, Washington has implemented a strategy of maximum pressure that includes an oil blockade preventing fuel from reaching Cuba, causing great suffering to the Cuban people. Similarly, the imposition of sanctions on foreign shipping companies has left more than 7,000 containers of basic supplies—including medicines and food—stranded in various ports in neighboring countries.
The Cuban delegation's gesture is a rejection of the slander and lies used by the United States to justify its policy of genocide against the Cuban people. (EmbaCuba Egipto)
