Egyptian press reflects Cuban Foreign Ministry statement on aggression against Iran

Cairo, March 2, 2026. A dozen Egyptian media outlets reported in their digital editions on the Cuban Foreign Ministry's statement condemning the illegal aggression carried out by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran and calling for the avoidance of an escalation in the Middle East.

The articles highlighted Cuba's assertion that this new military intervention violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international law, and that this irresponsible and deliberate aggression boycotts, for the second time, the efforts of international diplomacy in relation to the nuclear issue, which had been under negotiation. Once again, the United States and Israel are threatening and seriously endangering regional and international peace, stability, and security, the effects of which are already being felt in the Middle East region.

Similarly, the island's decision to join international calls to immediately halt this aggression, which has caused an unknown number of civilian casualties, including children, and to prevent an escalation promoted by known hegemonic interests and declared intentions of domination through the use of military force that could drag other countries in the region into the conflict, with unpredictable consequences, is also noted.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry also urged the United Nations Security Council to exercise its primary responsibility to maintain international peace and security, and called on the UN General Assembly to mobilize the international community to restore peace with the urgency and determination that the moment demands.

Among the websites that echoed the statement are Al Safir, La Liga Hispano Árabe, Sout Al Omam, Akhbar Alyoum, Arab Telegraph, and Al Ameltanmya. (EmbaCuba Egipto)
