Cairo, September 28, 2026. Several progressive parties in Egypt reaffirmed their support and solidarity with Cuba in the face of the United States’ aggressive policy and the Trump administration’s new threats against the independence and sovereignty of the Greater Antilles.
During a meeting held by Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga with the top leaders of the Communist Party of Egypt, the Socialist Party of Egypt, the Popular Socialist Alliance, and the Nasserist Party, discussions focused on the difficult situation in Cuba due to the intensification of the blockade, the oil blockade, and the fascist and genocidal policy implemented by the U.S. government against the Cuban people.
Egyptian friends recognized Cuba’s 67-year resistance against U.S. imperialism, as well as the example the island sets for the peoples of the world who are fighting for their independence and sovereignty. During the discussions, participants spoke of the need to create a global front of progressive forces to stop the fascism that today threatens all of humanity, and of carrying out actions to inform the Egyptian people about the reality in Cuba and to denounce the silent genocide against the Cuban people.
