Cairo, May 10, 2026. The Egyptian Socialist Labor Party issued a statement of solidarity with the Cuban people and government in the face of the successive and constant threats from the U.S. government, and in particular from its president, Donald Trump. The message states that these threats represent a recapitulation of decades of U.S. hostility toward the free, socialist-oriented state since October 1962, as well as the United States’ attempt to launch an attack against Cuba. The statement notes that the blockade has intensified following the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife on January 3.
The Egyptian political party states in its note that despite this blockade, the prohibition on obtaining loans from the World Bank and international financial institutions for the development of its developing economy, and the scarcity of basic resources, Cuba did not fall or surrender to the superpower, and remained beyond its control until it recently became the focus of attention and the statements of the U.S. president, who threatened and intimidated by asserting that Cuba is the United States’ next target after Venezuela!
The Egyptian Socialist Labor Party denounced and condemned the threats and ultimatums directed against a United Nations member state that enjoys full sovereignty and independence, while urging the international community to play its part in stopping the threats and actions of this conspirator against international peace, the same party that has also destroyed the world through its aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its support for Zionist aggression and annihilation in the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian Socialist Labor Party firmly stands with the Cuban people and their leaders in their resistance and courage in the face of U.S. arrogance and intimidation, and emphasizes the need for a united and cohesive internal front to confront the dangers and the lurking U.S. enemy, which will fail (just as it failed previously in its Bay of Pigs invasion) thanks to their national will and their firm conviction in the right to sovereignty and independence.
The statement concludes by calling on free people around the world to expose this criminal imperialist policy, which aims to control the fate of peaceful nations and seize their wealth—especially oil—for the benefit of and on behalf of U.S. global monopolies. (EmbaCuba Egipto)
