Kampala. On the morning of January 17, 2022, the Electoral Commission of the State Mission of Cuba in Uganda took office, the first step in the process of popular consultation of the Family Code.
In solemn gathering, the members of the Commission signed the Oath that implies the commitment to ethical behavior and absolute loyalty to the Homeland.
The Cuban State Mission in Uganda will participate in the extensive debate process convened by the Parliament of the Republic of Cuba last December, and which will take place in this African nation in the first half of February this year.
The discussion of this important document, which had 23 versions, the result of an extensive consultation process and which now has the green light after the modifications made by the contributions and proposals of the legislators during the debate sessions in the Parliament, will be a new exercise in participatory democracy.
