Hello Mr. President of the Euro Chamber, David-Maria Sassoli, we hope that, upon receiving this letter, you and your family are in perfect physical and mental health, given the current difficult circumstances we are experiencing, we are writing to you to inform you that:
Since 1960, the United States of America has maintained an embargo against the island of Cuba in the hope of taking the Castro brothers out of power, but only managed to give someone to blame for the serious economic problems.
For more than 50 years, the Washington government has maintained an economic, trade and financial fence against the Caribbean nation and, according to official estimates, has cost its people more than $157 billion.
In this context, it is necessary to detail its intrinsic and unacceptable seriousness, the continued, manifestly illegal conduct, of the US government against the Socialist Republic of Cuba, the damages inferred in a methodical, uninterrupted and systematic manner with the permissiveness of institutional and international organizations and agencies, whenever the aforementioned aggressions and those that continue to be perpetrated to date , are taken to the International Criminal Court, scandalously silenced by the international community.
Despite the numerous resolutions of the old and new Commission on Human Rights, the General Assembly, and the Human Rights Council itself, as well as the repeated Political Declarations adopted at important United Nations-sponsored International Summits and Conferences, have ruled that the implementation of unilateral coercive economic measures is in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, the perpetration of these behaviours continues unalterably.
The impacts of the blockade on the public health sector negatively impact the Cuban people and have an impact on their quality of life. Cuban children suffering from lymphoblastic leukaemia and rejecting the usual medicines cannot be treated with the North American product "Elspar", created precisely for cases of intolerance. And as a result, their life expectancy is reduced, and their sufferings increase. The US government prohibits Merck and Co. from supplying this product to the Socialist Republic of Cuba.
A Gene Analyzer Equipment, which is essential for the study of the origin of breast, colon, and prostate cancer, has not been acquired because it is manufactured exclusively by companies with An American patent, such as Applied Biosystem (ABI).
The "William Soler" Pediatric Cardio Center is unable to acquire devices such as catheters, coils, guides, and stents, which are used for diagnosis and treatment by interventional catheterization in children with complex congenital heart disease. American companies Numed, Aga and Boston scientific are prohibited from selling these products to the Socialist Republic of Cuba."
The total ban on the sale of food, Americans has contributed to serious nutritional deficits, particularly among pregnant women, resulting in an increase in the rate of underweight new-borns. In addition, food shortages were linked to a devastating neuropathy epidemic that affected more than 50,000 people. According to one estimate, daily calorie consumption fell by 33 percent between 1989 and 1993.
The embargo severely restricts Cuba's access to the chemicals and spare parts needed for the island's water supply. This has led to serious shortfalls in the availability of drinking water, which in turn contributed to the increase in morbidity and mortality rates from waterborne diseases.
Under the Certificate of Savings Deposit (CDA), to the U.S. Treasury and Commerce Departments. they are in principle allowed to grant individual licenses for the sale of medicines and medical supplies, ostensibly for humanitarian reasons to mitigate the impact of the embargo on health care. In practice, according to executives of U.S. corporations, licensing requirements are so complex that they achieve an opposite effect. As implemented, these regulations discourage any type of medical trade. The number of such licences granted-or even those that have been applied for since 1992- is minuscule. Numerous licenses for medical equipment and medicines have been denied on the basis that these exports "would be detrimental to the interests of U.S. foreign policy."

Cuba permanently claims its sovereign right and the indispensable duty to denounce the damages and violations caused by the policy of the blockade, which has been imposed on its people, and with dire consequences on the people of the United States itself, third countries and international law. The implementation of this blocking policy continues to be the main obstacle to Cuba's economic and social development, and constitutes a flagrant, massive, and systematic violation of human rights to an entire people and a transgression into the right of one's own right to live in peace, with development and security of a sovereign state.
However, these rude violations of human rights, never demented by the United States of America, and the international relationship of prevailing forces, and above all the historical role it plays in the United Nations Security Council, means that the international criminal system has shown no vocation in the prosecution and prosecution of these savage crimes, perpetrated by the United States of America against Cuba.
Respect for international law exists for all equally, as an indispensable paradigm of peaceful coexistence and justice on the planet. It is inadmissible that the Government of the United States of America continues to implement measures and provisions aimed at maintaining the blockade and worsening the living conditions of the Cuban people, and ignores that the International Community has been calling for an end to the criminal blockade against Cuba in successive UN General Assembly resolutions, as well as systematically condemning the implementation of unilateral coercive measures , in the Assembly itself and in several of its subsidiary bodies".
Cuba is a small island, with few resources and that does not yet have "an effective economic model". The reasons are many, but they all happen to be amid the geopolitical turbulence it ends up needing to survive.
Cuba, which is the founder of the United Nations (UN), and maintains a close relationship with the United Nations, where it stands out for the prominence in South-South cooperation, especially in public health and education.
We highlight Cuba's contributions to the International Community in the fight against the virus that has left more than 4,500 dead in West Africa. Contributions from the Caribbean island to attack the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, where a contingent of 165 doctors work in Sierra Leone, the Ebola epidemic is the largest global health emergency since the onset of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV), with more than four thousand,500 deaths in West Africa.
The world's population from 2020 to date is being affected by the most severe pandemic of the past 100 years. This was released on 31 December 2019 by the Chinese authorities who informed the World Health Organization (WHO). The Cuban government's response to the 2019 coronavirus pandemic that causes covid-19 disease has been exemplary, with its health care capacity in sending brigades around the world to help contain the progression of the virus.
Cuba is highly committed to global efforts to address climate change and its devastating effects. There is a proven political will on the part of the Cuban government, reflected in its ethical conduct, in the ongoing efforts in the promotion and implementation of national and international actions to combat climate change and honour the country's international commitments; as well as in the willingness to share their experiences and good practices with other nations as a sign of the solidarity cooperation that the Cuban Revolution sees.
We hope that this letter is well received by you and we are at your disposal for further questions, with an affectionate greeting we sincerely say goodbye to you.
SINCERELY.
