Kingston, Jamaica, 19 November 2020. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, and the Director of the Caribbean and Americas Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, Mrs. Marsha Coore Lobban, had a meeting this morning at the Ministry’s headquarters to review the main issues on the bilateral agenda.
The diplomats confirmed the positive state of relations between the two countries and expressed the willingness of their respective governments to continue deepening and diversifying cooperation, both bilaterally and within the framework of the Cuba-CARICOM agreements.
The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to thank Jamaica for its traditional position in support of the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba; and for its recent support for the election of the Greatest Island in the Antilles to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
