Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica participates at Cane and Rum Festival

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, September 22nd, 2017. The Embassy of Cuba  in Jamaica joined the rest of the Latin American and Caribbean missions accredited in Jamaica in the celebration of the Cane and Rum Festival held in this capital. 

With the attendance of the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Ambassador Marcia Gilbert Roberts, the Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Ruel Reid, and other senior representatives of the government, the exhibition was held at the Spanish Court Hotel with the presence of representives from the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Kingston, businessmen from different areas, in particular, from tourism, and those who know well about the high quality of the rums and liquors derived from sugar cane and produced in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

The Cuban stand was widely visited and the attendees could enjoy some of the most representatives Cuban rums and drinks. 

The Festival, that had the participation of Colombia, Cuba, Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic, Guyana and Jamaica, is part of the permanent efforts of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Embassies to bring their culture and traditions to this sister Caribbean nation.
