Embassy of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands celebrates the 58th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution

February 2nd, 2017. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the Kingdom of the NetherlandsH.E. Mrs. Soraya Alvarez presided overthe commemoration of the 58th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution celebrated in the Marriot Hotel in The Hague with the attendance of more than a hundred guests.

In the keynote of the evening, Ambassador Alvarez spoke of the main events of bilateral relations and expressed her satisfaction with the progress made. She also listed the most important events occurred in Cuba during 2016 emphasizing that the process of normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States will still transit through a long period of time and will positively be marked by the lifting of the US Blockade. She also paid a posthumous tribute to the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro by pointing out that his ideas are paramount and the impact of his historical figure can never be underestimated.

The celebration was attended by friends of solidarity, Cuban residents, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Netherlands, directors of the multilateral organizations based in the country, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and authorities of several local governments.
