Embassy of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands Celebrates the 92nd Anniversary of the Birthday of Fidel Castro

The Hague, 17 August 2018. The Embassy of Cuba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands commemorated tje 92nd anniversary of the birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro in the afternoon-evening of August 16. 

 

In the ceremony of commemoration were present members of the diplomatic representation of the sister nation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, members of the New Dutch Communits Party (NCPN), the Communist Youth Movement of South Holland, members of the solidarity organizations, including a representation of the Cuban-Ethiopians and Cuban residents in the Netherlands.

 

The Ambassador of Cuba H.E. Mrs Soraya Álvarez Núñez pronounced the opening remarks of the ceremony, in which she stressed the actuality of the Commander's ideas and his immense Lati Americanist, solidarian andanti-imperialist legacy.

 

In the words by members of the directive of the NCPN, Will van del Klift and Alejandro de Mello, and the representative of the Communist Youth Movement, Mouraya Hussein,  they underlined the importance of continue following the ideas of the Commander and they also condemned the unfair blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba and the importance of continuing to express support to the Cuban people struggle against that cruel policy.

 

During the emotional ceremony, an audiovisual material with images of memorables moments of the life of the Commander was shown and attendees were able to exchange their experiences in a friendly atmosphere.
