Indonesia, March 29, 2018. The Embassy of Cuba in this country held a working meeting with a large delegation formed by young Indonesians representing the Youth Center of the Latin America-East Asia Cooperation Forum (FEALAC), based in Bandung.
The center was inaugurated on January 19 of this year, as a result of the proposal presented by the Mayor of Bandung during the youth conference of FEALAC held in that city. The idea was approved at the most recent FEALAC conference, which took place in Busan, South Korea, in 2017.
During the meeting, in addition to discussing the relations between both countries and the actions of Cuba within the framework of the Forum, several actions were identified to develop cooperation at the Embassy level and with Cuban youth. Among the proposals is the study of the life and work of the Cuban National Hero José Martí, the screening of audiovisuals, exhibition of Cuban pictures and paintings, the holding of conferences on current issues on the island and the Embassy's collaboration for the study of the Spanish language.
The group gifted the embassy an angklung, a typical instrument of the country, while the embassy in return gave them a picture of the Commander in Chief of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, emphasizing the important role he played in the development of the Cuban youth and in the struggle for welfare of young people around the world.
