The Hague, 23 April 2018. In a sunny Saturday afternoon, the Embassy of Cuba in The Netherlands celebrated a new anniversary of the victory of Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs) in a beautiful celebration that brought together friends from solidarity organizations, young communists and Cuban residents in the European country.
The chancellery proved to be small to receive all the friends who came from various provinces of the country to celebrate together with the Embassy staff the victories of the month of April.
In the central words of the celebration, Ambassador Soraya Alvarez Núñez made reference to the recently concluded election process in Cuba, which started in 2017 and ended on April 19 with the composition of the Ninth Legislature of the National Assembly of the People's Power, the election of the members of the Council of State and the President of Cuba, Comrade Miguel M. Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, genuine representative of the generation born after 1959, which embodies the guarantee of the continuity of the Revolution. She stressed in her remarks that the election process showed the overwhelming support of the Cuban people to the Revolution and their trust in the socialist democracy.
Poems, songs, music and a delicious buffet with traditional and delicious Cuban dishes were also part of an afternoon in which it was reiterated the disposition to continue building bridges of love and solidarity between our countries.
