The Hague, 2 February 2018-. The Embasy of Cuba in the Netherlands took part in the event "The Hague Digital Diplomacy Camp," organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Halbe Zijstra, delievered the opening words in which he underlined the growing value and the power of information, as well as those of the data networks to face current challenges.
The event was orgnized in an interactive, non-conferentail format in which the activities were scheduled in line with the development of the event. A wibe range of topics were discussed in the event including the initiative "She Decides" to support the reproductive rights of women, public diplomacy, an overview of the tools available online for diplomats and staff associated to this kind of work, the power of alliances for humanitarian innovation, how digital diplomacy can contribute to face climate change, the potentialities of Facebook and Instagram, diplomats in the 21st century, among others.
The event was also an opportunity to explore opportunitites for bilateral cooperation and to identify counterparts in topics of mutual interest.
