Wellington, September 25th, 2019. During an activity held at the Cuban diplomatic mission in Wellington, the Latin American Ambassadors held a fruitful meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister and leader of the NZ First Party, Winston Peters.
The occasion was conducive to dialogue on multiple topics of interest, with emphasis on exchanges between New Zealand and Latin America, as well as on the main issues of the bilateral relationship for each nation.
The Cuban Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray Rodríguez highlighted the importance that Cuba attaches to ties with New Zealand, based on respect and mutual trust, taking into account that both are small and distant nations that have managed to maintain reciprocal attention, with practical results in bilateral cooperation and in matters of mutual interest.
The diplomat also addressed various issues on the international agenda, the current state of relations between Cuba and the United States, with special emphasis on the intensification of the economic, financial and commercial blockade against our country. (Embacuba NZ)
