She explained the historical significance of the Moncada feat and the role played by the “July 26 Movement” in the overthrow of the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship. She also discussed the socio-economic effects of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States and its escalation by the Trump administration. Amid the conditions imposed by the Covid 19 pandemic, we have faced ruthless commercial and financial persecution to prevent access to fuel, food, and medicine. Cuba has not only cared for Cubans, it has also made its contribution to containing the disease in other lands. More than 1,500 Cuban doctors have traveled to other countries to help. This pandemic must be faced with the cooperation of all. The Cuban Ambassador recalled the commemoration last April, 40 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Zimbabwe. During these years, both countries have developed a special relationship based on cooperation and mutual respect.
