In the residence of the Ambassador of Cuba, in Accra, was held a fruitful meeting with members of the executive board of the Cuban Trained Ghanaian Graduates Association (ESBECAN).
The Cuban Ambassador, Pedro Luis González Despaigne, expressed his gratitude for the solidarity work with Cuba carried out by the former leadership of the ESBECAN, chaired by Mr. Kofi Asafo-Agyei, which concluded its work on 26th November, 2016. Besides, he urged the current executive to overcome those results, keeping the excellent level of communication achieved.
In the course of the exchange, were outlined a group of actions to be performed jointly by the Embassy and the ESBECAN in the 2017, among them the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the fall in combat of the Commander Ernesto "Ché" Guevara, and the First Anniversary of the physical disappearance of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
The representatives of Ghanaian graduates in Cuba ratified their commitment to a country they consider their second homeland. They said that the ESBECAN would like to pay homage to Fidel similar to the one that Ghana offers to its heroes. The ESBECAN executives emphasized that they will continue to be mobilized in the battle to lift the economic blockade.
